Ginsa
Ginsa is a caffeine-free and sparkling tonic that energizes the body. Made with Korean red ginseng, a traditional herb used for centuries. The beverage comes in 3 flavors and pairs perfectly with snacks or can be enjoyed alone!
As a Korean American, working on this project has been deeply meaningful, a true joy to support a fellow community member. Watching Korean culture gain wider recognition has felt like a quiet healing, filling me with pride and hope for the future.
The inspiration
It was key for the branding to be rooted in Korean culture. The client wanted to integrate “Jogakbo,” a traditional patchwork used for Korean formal wear (Hanboks) or for gift wrapping (bojagi). The quilts use bright primary colors and are often stitched into squares or rectangular shapes.
Logo and accents
“Simple”, “Minimal,” and “clean” were what described the vision for Ginsa. I decided to lean towards a sans-serif font that best reflected the shapes that mimicked the jogakbo. Allowing the base to be really highlighted for each tonic flavor.
