Chime Credit Builder Card
Chime's broader customer and user base live paycheck-to-paycheck and struggle to build their credit scores. Not having access to a credit card has limited members in investments that could elevate their lifestyles such as, buying a car, access to loans, getting a mortgage, and more. The Credit Builder card was developed to build member's credit scores in a chance for users to focus on the essential things in life.

How it works
Similarly to a secured credit card, eligible members transfer funds into their Credit Builder secured account. The set amount gains credit as members repay.
Members decide how much they can spend with the Credit Builder card by making deposits into a secured account. There's no risk of racking up a balance they can't pay off—the funds are already set aside.
With automatic payments, members pay off their full credit card balance on time each month. Chime reports the payments to the credit bureaus.
Card Design
Taking pride in the brand's vivid green, the card design mimics the simplistic look, similar to the white debit card and black metal debit card. I didn't want to overpower or over-analyze the models. The card should be distinctive compared to competitors. Be seen from a distance. Yet, still feel like it's part of the Chime family.
UI Design
Working alongside with the lead product designer, I created illustrations used in the enrollment flow when eligible users apply for the credit builder card. The illustrations were paired with an informative copy for users to understand how to use the card once applied.
Compelling visuals
Created a visual library within the team’s design system. Key visuals were utilized in social media posts, (such as Instagram and Facebook) or in the Credit Builder’s lifecycle emails.
Email Campaign
Within the team's design system, I created custom email templates applied to Chime's life cycle emails. Using this basic template, Chime's lifecycle team referred to the critical visuals as part of the campaign. The company continues to use the visuals library as the project continues to scale.
